I think that a great new update for Runescape would be a fight-caves type mingame, but instead of one player at a time, there would be five on a team.

It would be a Slayer based minigame, with each wave of monsters being different and requiring the normal equipment to kill.

There would be waves that work like Fight Caves, and the final boss would be a brand new 95 Slayer monster that, when defeated, gives a certain number of points and a new item. (see below for points and point usage)

Players are allowed 1 timeout to leave the area of battle and restock on supplies. Each team is only allowed 1 restock per person. However, even if someone leaves the arena, the waves will continue to spawn without them. If someone dies in the area and has already used his free pass, he may not return to his group and will be given the appropriate amount of points. (See below) If the person has not used their free restock yet, they may do so and return to the battle.

Players may take anything that they want into the area. However, there are no safespots what so ever.

Also, the entire area is Multi-combat.

Waves would go like this:

First set would be Banshees.
Next, Cockatrice are introduced.
Next, Aberrant Spectres are introduced.
Next, Gargoyles are introduced.
Next, Abyssal Demons are introduced.
Finally, the boss fight would be a new monster, called the Beast of Hate. Level 95 Required to damage.

*Note, the waves would run exactly the same way the Fight Caves runs. Example: Wave 2 would be 2 Banshees, and on Wave 3 the Banshees disappear and a Cockatrice is introduced.*

The Beast of Hate

This monster, level 285, would utilize all three forms of attack. His range attack would be a series of serpents that are shot from his mouth. It can max 35's. The magic attack would be an enormous wave of fire that engulfs the target. Max hit would be 30. Finally, the melee attack would be a slow lunge at the target. This attack can hit 40's.

Like Jad in the fight caves, all three attacks can be predicted and therefore protected against.

The beast would have 520 Hitpoints.

The Beast of Hate would look like a swirling cloud of darkness with a skull on the top. He would drop an item called a Shard of Hate. Each player still alive would get one of these Shards. This item is used, when in conjunction with other Shards and some other materials, to make a variety of new armors/weapons.

Now you ask, what happens if I can't reach the final boss? Well, then in that case, you will recieve points depending on how far you got. Each wave is worth one point.

"What can I cash these points in for?" you ask. Well, this relates back to the Shards mentioned before. Located near the fight area, you will be able to find a new merchant shop. This shop is a rewards shop, that you can use to cash in your earned points. The rewards are as follows:

Upper-Right Shard Piece: 220 Points
Upper-Left Shard Piece: 200 Points
Bottom-Right Shard Piece: 250 Points
Bottom-Right Shard Piece: 230 Points
Central Shard Piece: 350 Points
Bond of Hate: 100 Points

Each of these Shard pieces are Untradable, and when all 5 shards are collected, whether from the shop or from the Beast of Hate as a drop, they must be smithed together by using the pieces on an anvil with the Bond of Hate in the inventory. It requires 65 Smithing to create. The created item is also untradable, and cannot be retrieved if the wearer dies and loses it. Instead, 350k Cash will appear on the ground.

When successfully smithed, you will receive a new piece of armor called the Breastplate of Hatred.

The stats of the breastplate are +100 to all melee defence styles, +20 to Mage defence, and +55 to Ranged Defence.

Also, it would give +5 to all attack styles, +6 to Strength, but Negative 4 to Prayer.

Also, the Breastplate has a special attack which is triggered whenever an enemy hits higher than 30 on the wearer. The special attack, called Repentance, causes enemies who hit higher than a 30 to be dealt one-third of the damage dealt. So, if a 30 was hit, 10 would be hit back. This special attack has a 75% chance to hit when the conditions are right.

Well thanks for reading, I know it's long but I hope you all had the patience to read it.

Impossible. In order to kill the banshees, you need to wear earmuffs. In order to kill the Aberrant Spectres, you need a nose plug. Both items are head gear, and if im not mistaken, if it works like fight caves, both will appear at the same time sooner or later.

Unless Jagex either:
  • Made it so no slayer gear is used
  • Or you can put on magic protect, and no stats are lowered.

But if it goes as far as in the real game, your stats WOULD be lowered indeffinitly.

Also, if this were actually to happen, the bonuses of the plate would be fairly dropped.

Anywho, great idea! wub.gif

Ah, you've overlooked the most important part of this. You may have 5 people! Each person could bring different gear, I.e., one member of the group takes a Mirror shield, one member takes a Nose peg, and one member takes Earmuffs.

Also though, I understand what you're saying. But maybe the monsters would not be allowed to use their attack unless within striking distance of you, so that an element of ranging them from afar would be introduced into the mix?

This sounds like a slayer forum of Barbarian Assault to me.

hmm very interesting minigame it would be very cool i think i would be addicted to it ftw smile.gif
G-Runic?
Yeah, minigames like this are addicting smile.gif This might make a pretty good one.

So you would need the appropriate slayer levels to kill it, then? It would make a great incentive to many players, I would bet.

Not a bad idea, good luck with it. smile.gif

If it wasn't situated on Slayer monsters, the last monster could be Jad! But everyone could attack it instead of just one. wink.gif
