Introduction:

This guide will explain to you every point of pking youll ever think of. "Honor" and "No-Honor" styles of pking. These will also show you gear


Definitions:
PK - Player-Kill
Honor - People who arent NH (see below) In my opinion, an e-samurai
NH - No-Honor (the scum of runescape ) This I can honestly say I am. Many people portray NH clans as liars, scammers, and cheaters. In most cases this is not it. Thats just greed of pixles.
1-Item - To put it easy, a person wears...One Item! Usually a DDS.
MB - Mage Bank
Members Gate - Area where almost ALL wars are located. Appox 45 wild.
New Gate - The new members gate, also popular spot for big fights.
Portals - Portals in the wild, they include many differnt levels. 50 is the most popular. Seeing as it is right next to Rouges Castle. But when you go to the portals, it just shoots you to a random one. So it can take a while to get to your wanted location
GDZ - Greater Demons, this is a very popular spot, seeing as how members gate is right next to it. Very good spot to return at
EOH - East of Hut This is above the Scorpion pit in the end of the wild.
Greens: Green Dragons.
Castle - Either "Rogues Castle (approx 48 wild)" or "Dark Warriors' Castle (level 13 wild)
Opt - Options. Get everyone to pile into one dot. And show its "Opt count" 1 player = 3 opt. exe. 33 People = 99 Opt.
DD - Death Dot - This is where clans all pile into one dot. Mainly used as a tactic to trick people who think it is just one person. Or sometimes just for fun
Fall-in - Everyone follows one person. Used for getting OPT Count and for regrouping the clan.
AC - Anti-Crash

Melee:

Melee is basically, the most popular style of pking. It is just an all around good PK style.

The basics of Melee pking, is just...well its really self explainatory. Use the best possible gear you are willing to lose. Pot up, and hope you win . Now melee has some very good weapons. The Abyssal Whip + DDS is the most widely used combo for this. Simply because the DDS has 4 specials it can use in a row. And hits 2 hits. When it hits good, it can hit well over 70 damage. (35-35 spec+) The Whip is just an all around good weapon. Very fast and accurate. It can hit for 40+ with a bit of added str bonus

Mage:

This is where it gets good.


- A very usefull spell in the Modern Spellbook, is Tele Block. It blocks the person casted upon from teleporting for 5 minutes. You used to be able to log out and it cancel off you. But recently Jagex has changed this. So it lasts for 5 Min. of in-game time.
This spell takes 1 Death Rune, 1 Law Rune and 1 Chaos Rune to cast.

- Another very usefull spell in the Modern Spellbook, is Slayer Dart, it requires Lvl 55 slayer to cast, and can hit up to 19. The damage is actually based on your magic level. It has a max hit of 19 at 90+ magic. 18 at 80+ and so on. It is more used for Barrows than anything. It does not have very good PK value, but I threw it in here becuase it is such a good and cheap spell.
This spell takes 1 Death Rune and 4 Mind Runes to cast.


- In many fights, people will use mage, usually the spell "Ice Barrage" Becuase it has a max hit of 30, and holds for 20 seconds (10 seconds if you have prot mage on) Ice barrage is in the Ancient Spellbook.
This spell takes 2 Blood Runes, 4 Death Runes and 6 Water Runes to cast.

- Another widely used spell is from the Lunar Spellbook. Is Vengance. It is a spell that recoils 75% damage taken for one hit, heres an example. If you get hit for a 100, it will recoil 75 damage to the person who dealt the damage to you. You may cast this spell every 30seconds.
This spell takes 4 Astral Runes, 2 Death Runes and 10 Earth Runes to cast.


- Mage is very widely used in P2P and F2P fights. F2P it is mainly used for Binding in wars and pk run-ins. In P2P fights, like stated above. It is used mainly for Tele-Block and Ice Barrage. Ice barrage in huge MULTI fights, like EOH/GDZ/Newgate or just any fight in multi. TB is mainly used for any area thats not above 30 wild.

This is MY invintory when I mage at multi fights. I only have the rune for when I get called on, and the energy pots becuase the rune weighs alot.

Range:

My third favorite at a high lvl Most favorite at a low lvl.

-Range is very usefull in any pking. Expecially MULTI, becuase they have such good range, and damage at that range. It is just surely impressive


-This skill -- is amazing. Too many people think it is under-powered. But It has just enough power to keep up. The MSB (Magic ShortBow) Hits 3 times to the Whips 2. The MSB has a max hit of 25 on accurate, and 24 on rapid. That is at 99 range potted and praying.

-With the recent addition of the Dark Bow, rangers have gotten a bow that actually HITS HARD. But..its slow as shoot. So it counters it.

Now with range, you can do many things. You can do one of two things.
1. Tank Range -- my fav and imo the best
2. Range as a pure -- about the same as any other pure.

Tank Range IMO is the best. Becuase you dont get hit very often, and you hit them alot. I myself have a tank ranger. His name is "Do-It-B-I-G" At combat lvl 96. He has 96 defence and 91 range. 91 range hits any rune pure amazing. And with 96 defence to back it up. You win just about every fight.

Now being a Pure Ranger. This is where it gets tricky, you hit other pures, and they hit you. Its just a matter of who gets the first big hit.

This is the gear I use when I pk in EDGEVILLE on my tank ranger. Not on Durrette. His range is only 79

Hybrid:

This is where it gets difficult. Where you get to choose 2 differnt kinds of types to attack with. Hopefully you have both the styles leveled enough to do some damage out of it.

-The most common, is Melee/Mage. Its mainly used for Green Drag pking. And Mage Bank. This usually consists of Ahrims top + bottom, Any gloves/boots/ring/ammy/cape of your choice. Whip, And a shield of your choice.

This is very differnt than just melee/mage hybird. Yet needed in every bit. All of that is there for a reason, if you have a question. PM ME


-The other type of hybriding, is Mage/Range I usually use this for my Tank ranger, when I go pking at green drags. Or just for fun in edge. This hybrid is also very usefull for big P2P fights. You can just wear mystic and an Archer helm, and just shoot and cast Best used with ancients.


This is my Range/Mage hybrid setup. I like this beucase it gives both good range bonus, and good enough mage bonus to hit most of the time.


This is my Range/Mage hybrid invintory. No reason for it, its just a good solid invintory.

Clan PKing:

This, is what makes RuneScape fun. Going out with 50-100 of your clan mates. And just going after another team. Who cares how much lag you may get when you see all 100 of the other team running in at you. Its fun.

-Now there are alot of things you can do with a clan.
This includes:
Full-out War: You get every member you can get, and go fight another clan who got every member they can get.
Mini-war: These include 10 v 10, 20 v 20, 30 v 30 etc.
Short Prep War: Take 20min prep for both teams. And go fight with the OPT you get.
Portaling: Most clans get together, and just go portals. (usually 50) and go looking for other clans. Now these fights usually carry over to new gate, or inside Rogues Castle.
War Crashing: Personally my favorite. Yes I know im in ROT (Reign Of Terror). But I dont care who you are, if you ever get a chance to crash a war. It is the funnest thing to do in RS. Im sorry if you dont think so, but this is my opinion.


PKing with a clan, is really something you just have to do to understand much easier. So if you are unsure. Please just join a clan. And check it out for yourself! It is probably the best aspect of Runescape.

Popular Places to PK and why:

Edgeville Wild: World 18, just alot of people there. You cant really expect to get that many kills there. Since everyone just runs down to non-wild.
Mage Bank: Very High lvl wild, not many places to run. Alot of teams though. I would suggest be Combat 115+ unless your high def. Then it should be all fun. If you go with a team, make sure you have 1 or 2 TBers (teleblock) And the rest just kill. I would suggest 5-6 people for a team at 115+
Green Dragons (west): Not too many people fight here anymore, I jsut threw it in so you can go kill the mass of autoers . Its about lvl 13 wild. And bring TB. If you dont, everyone will get away.
Green Dragons(middle): About lvl 25ish wild. It ranges wide. Fairly popular place to pk. It is also a very popular spot to lure. Gotta watch out though, since its 20+ wild. higher lvls can attack you. And your not able to use a regular teleport spell past 20. You can however use a glory untill 30+. But a simple TB will fix that.
Green Dragons (east): VERY popular place to lure. So watch out
Greater Demons: Alot of fights here, P2P and F2P. Usually alot of fights carry to Members gate, or New Gate.
Members Gate: Alot of wars here. P2P and F2P, just a very good spot to fight. No hills, just flat area to fight on, no NPCs either. Just abunch of looters after the fight gets started
Lava Gap: Almost all fights will carry somewhere, or your clan will regroup here. Its a very good spot to have. Everyone knows where it is, so just say "Gather at lava gap" And all your mates will run to you
New Gate: Alot of P2P fights here. Just a really situational spot.
EOH(East of Hut): All P2P A lure spot mainly, not really much fighting you can do here. If you do fight here, you either mage or range. Melee is not good here. Becuase of the mass ammount of tall Hills.
Portals: All P2P here. Watch out for Chaos Elemental! This is a very good and situational spot to fight at. Alot of times these fights carry to EOH/NewGate/Rouge Castle.

How much money have you gotten from pking? and did you get ur mage up by alching or something else?

I'll admit I'm not much of a pk'er, but this is definitely informative and to the point.

Oh, and I don't believe in "no-honor" - as in, I don't believe it exists. I feel that "honor" was introduced by people who didn't know how to make full use of the features of the game, and subsequently flamed those who did.

Although I do find it a little lame when you're fighting a 125 in CW and he starts praying ... I mean seriously ... not so bad now that I'm 118, but when I was like 100 or so, I found it to be rather low lol...

I got my mage up by alching, aloonnnngg time ago Got banned alching to Level 82. Autoed for like..2 hours? lol
And pking is not very profitable seeing on how much you spend for the supplies. But if you know what your doing, or just have a great team. It can be very profitable.

Back before RS2 was released honour was very important in the wilderness.. Those who crashed wars or lied to kill people were considered scum and weren't ever considered to be good at PKing or good as a clan...

I remember that Good times pking when you didnt have to worry about idiots teleing/praying 1 v 1/any of the stupid stuff there is now. But hey, times change. We cant help that.

I know almost everyone pks. But I wrote this for the poeple who dont know alot, and are willing to learn.

with the range/mage setup its stupid to wear hides, just keep ahrims top and take mage short

Well, the setup already has a mage short, and adding a ahrims top. Wouldnt do much. It would kill your range bonus. Alot. And all you need is enough mage bonus to hit. Which +36 is enough to hit. And +111 Range Bonus is good enough to hit very well on most things.


Ive never really bothered making a pure. But I will do it in the future. Once I decide to make one. I do know some about it. But not enough to write a guide
